full-time Database Engineer - Production Services (Associate/Jr Level) Greater Philadelphia Area (100% Onsite) - relocation options US or Green Card only Full name and city/state of residence required on all resumes We're looking for a Database Engineer who brings a blend of database and systems engineering skills. This is a position of opportunity for an eager, early-stage career CS grad who understands how databases interact with applications, infrastructure, and distributed systems to deliver exceptional performance, reliability, and scalability. What You'll Do ? Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale database platforms ? Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and schema design --> advanced SQL skills required ? Build Python-based automation and tooling to streamline operational workflows and improve system reliability ? Architect and support high-availability solutions, including replication, failover, and disaster recovery ? Manage and scale containerized database workloads in Kubernetes ? Monitor platform health and proactively address performance bottlenecks using observability tools Required Qualifications Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or technology field 1-3 years of experience in database engineering, systems engineering including designing, maintaining, or owning database infrastructure; DBA experience a plus (professionally or through academics). Strong proficiency in core SQL and deep working knowledge of relational databases, complex query manipulation, indexing, partitioning, replication, and high availability. Solid Python development skills - able to write production-quality scripts and tooling, not just one-off automation. Good understanding of Kubernetes - deploying, managing, and debugging containerized workloads. Linux fundamentals - shell scripting, process management, system monitoring, and core command-line fluency. Comfort operating in a production environment - you handle pressure well and take ownership of reliability. Completion of internships, co-op programs or hands on work experience is welcomed!
