Packaging Operations Principal Engineer Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Assume remit for business protection & maintenance activities; accountabilities including:
  • Development of secondary and tertiary packaging
  • On time, in full delivery of project success factors
  • Creation of meaningful improvements and cost savings projects to protect brands and defend vs competition
  • Effective technical transfer of information to the factory / CMO
  • Packaging leadership of US strategic business protection & maintenance projects
  • Create packaging solutions by using in depth technical knowledge, experience, and education; considering the shopper, customer, channel, brand, financial, technical, and compliance success factors.
  • Partner with the US Product Supply and Development Center to contribute to category business protection & maintenance plans, with specific packaging strategy insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the broader P&D group as well as all cross-functional partners to ensure smooth transfer of information, holistic understanding of project needs, and adherence to requirements.
  • Develop key external partnerships (in collaboration with Procurement) to ensure best fit to project needs, innovative supplier selection, and cost budget targets.
  • Develop key internal partnerships (in collaboration with consumer insights, manufacturing and sales) to reduce damage in the supply chain and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Develop key external partnerships (in collaboration with Procurement) to ensure best fit to project needs, strategic cost savings strategy/pipeline, innovative supplier selection, and cost budget targets.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
    Education:

    Packaging Engineering Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent degree);

      Experience:

      A proven track record in managing packaging development, including the creation, development & delivery of new packaging and business protection & maintenance of launched packaging, ensuring efficient production and best in class quality in the supply chain. Consumer healthcare or FMCG experience is an advantage.

      • 8y experience, master's degree (or equivalent degree) with min.

      3y experience This posting will be available for application until at least September 28, 2026. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $96,200-144,400. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors. |
