Job Description

Salary Range:
$85K
  • $90K Monday
  • Friday 8 am
  • 5 pm The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that purchased materials, components, and outsourced manufacturing processes meet company quality standards and customer requirements.
This role partners closely with suppliers, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to improve supplier performance, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Manage supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with company quality requirements. Monitor supplier quality metrics, including Supplier PPM, incoming rejection rates, SCAR closure effectiveness, and on-time delivery. Issue, manage, and verify Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs). Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations using methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D problem solving. Review and approve corrective and preventive action plans and verify long-term effectiveness. Support supplier development activities to improve manufacturing processes, quality systems, and process controls. Conduct supplier audits and evaluate supplier quality systems, capabilities, and compliance. Support new supplier qualification, First Article Inspections (FAI), sample approvals, and process validations. Collaborate with Quality Control and Manufacturing teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues. Review technical documentation including drawings, material certifications, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), inspection reports, and test reports. Participate in Management Business Reviews (MBR) and support company safety initiatives. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Quality. Experience working with suppliers in a machining or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes. Hands-on knowledge of measurement technology, inspection methods, gauges, metrology equipment, and calibration systems. Experience with machining processes including CNC machining, fabrication, or precision manufacturing. Proven experience leading Root Cause Analysis, corrective actions, and supplier quality improvement initiatives. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and identify trends. Proficiency with Excel and quality reporting tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across suppliers and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple supplier quality issues and projects simultaneously.
