Full Job Description Job Overview:
A large Manufacturing plant in NJ is looking for a Senior Industrial/Process Engineer to lead efforts in optimizing production systems, improving workflows, and driving technical process innovations across our high-volume manufacturing plant. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring that operations run efficiently, safely, and at scale. The ideal candidate should bring strong technical capability, design and optimize facility layouts to maximize space utilization, streamline material flow, and support scalable production, and the ability to guide teams through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze production schedules, workflows, and system specifications to maximize throughput, efficiency, and quality. Design and optimize facility layouts, focusing on space utilization, equipment placement, and material flows. Drive process upgrades, automation, and system enhancements. Define and enforce technical and production standards with cross-functional teams. Implement control systems that reduce downtime, cost, and variability. Prepare cost models, equipment specifications, and capital expenditure justifications. Act as a technical leader for the Continuous Improvement (CI) team, mentoring engineers and operators. Train staff on new technologies, standards, and best practices. Promote a data-driven, problem-solving culture across the plant.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in industrial/Process Engineering or related field (required). Significant experience in manufacturing process design, optimization, and improvement. Advanced knowledge of production machinery, automation, and system layouts. Strong technical skills, including, MS Office, and process modeling tools (with AutoCAD optional). Proven ability to lead technical projects and elevate team capability. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
