Job Title:
Industrial Engineer Job Description This role is a manufacturing-floor-focused Industrial Engineer responsible for establishing and validating labor standards, routings, and time studies to support accurate costing and continuous improvement. The position partners closely with Finance and Operations in a high-volume production environment. Responsibilities Spend the majority of time on the manufacturing floor observing and evaluating builds. Conduct time studies and validate routing times. Develop, standardize, and maintain manufacturing routings and labor standards. Partner with Finance to build and refine labor and product costs. Evaluate manufacturing builds and recommend process improvements. Identify and implement Lean / Continuous Improvement opportunities. Support electro-mechanical product manufacturing. Improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in high-volume production lines. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience in time studies. Experience in electro-mechanical environments. Job shop or build-type manufacturing experience. Exposure to Lean principles. Additional Skills & Qualifications Manual assembly or industrial equipment manufacturing experience. A degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required. Work Environment This is a floor-heavy role with approximately 95-100% of time spent on the manufacturing floor observing teams performing builds and conducting hands-on time studies. Only about 5% of the time is dedicated to reporting, which includes compiling data, documenting findings, and updating routing times. The position is ideal for candidates from plant-based, operations-driven environments. The role focuses on execution rather than consulting, requiring a hands-on, data-driven approach to reset inaccurate routing standards in high-volume production lines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cleveland, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $46.00/hr.
