Job Description

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for the support of the Supplier Approval Program regarding qualifications, capabilities, and working with existing suppliers to ensure full quality compliance. Assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of administrative functions for the Corporate Quality Assurance Program, Corporate Customer Feedback system, and the
ISO-9001
Program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure supplier adherence to the Supplier Guidelines, Purchase Order requirements, and contractual specifications. Support suppliers in developing and submitting quality documentation, including First Article Inspection (FAI) packages and full traceability requirements. Assist in defining and standardizing measurement methods across plants and suppliers. Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering teams to help align supplier quality objectives with business and customer requirements. Represent the Quality department in new projects, as it relates to supplier requirements. Assist the team in specification reviews and supplier coordination. Support resolution of customer feedback by coordinating with Engineering, Marketing, plants, and suppliers. Ensure that all drop shipments conform to quality standards without physical receipt at company facilities. Conduct supplier quality system audits, process audits, and source inspections during production orders. Work with Purchasing to maintain Supplier Risk Assessment and Inspection Level programs. Use digital tools to track audit findings and supplier performance metrics. Lead supplier-related corrective actions, including containment, RCCA, and verification. Apply Lean techniques to drive measurable supplier improvements. Track and report KPIs such as defect rates, audit scores, and CAPA closure times. Train supplier personnel on inspection, testing, documentation, and quality requirements. Ensure understanding and implementation of applicable quality policies, codes, and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in technical curriculum required with an Industrial / Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred. 3-5 years in quality assurance and/or manufacturing engineering. Focusing on project management, measurement, testing, documentation, specification review, and
ISO 9001
standards. Experience with FMEA, Control plans, 8D, and Quality Core Tools desired. ASQ Quality Engineering or Auditor Certification is desired, but not required
Metrology:
Proficient in operating general inspection and test equipment. Keyence knowledge a plus. GD&T proficiency: Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings. Ability to use a computer and applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with MiniTab or other statistical analysis software packages preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Travel:
30-50% Domestic, 10-15%
International Schedule:
Fulltime Standard office hours with flextime.
