Type:

full-time This position is a member of our Engineering group at Pacific Manufacturing Ohio, Inc., a tier one Japanese automotive supplier for such companies as Toyota, Mazda, Subaru and Honda since 1988. Our principal components are stamped, molded and air pressure monitoring products. We have extensive press, welding, molding and degreasing production tooling and operate two primary production shifts in five buildings. We are based in Fairfield, Ohio and employ just under 1K employees. The Production Engineer serves as the key technical liaison connecting customer requirements with internal manufacturing execution. Embedded directly within manufacturing operations, this role drives production efficiency through hands-on process planning, tooling/fixture design, and continuous troubleshooting on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities:
  • Implement countermeasures on mass production weld jigs to reduce internal scrap utilizing various problem-solving techniques to include 8D, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis and Pareto Charts.
  • Development of various technical documents to include process planning lay-out, total production maintenance requirements and process set-up sheets specific to each tool
  • Create and reteach robot programs during machine installation, and jig consolidation
  • Verify new weld cell satisfies design requirements and process planning layout upon receipt
  • Coordinate new model weld cell trial with various support groups assuring that OEE meets or exceeds quoted target
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Working experience with CAD software to include Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Mechanical and Dassault Systems CATIA preferred Minimum two years of experience within automotive manufacturing preferred Experience with robotic teaching and programming Proficient in all Microsoft business applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
