Supplier Quality Specialist

G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Hanover, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. The G&S Foods Supplier Quality Specialist ensures that raw materials and other components from vendors meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and technical specifications. They evaluate supplier capability, perform audits, manage SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests), and drive process improvements. This role requires a technical degree, industry-specific quality experience (e.g., ISO, FDA), and potential travel to supplier sites. Responsibilities Lead evaluation of supplier Food Safety and Quality Systems to ensure compliance with company and industry standards (e.g.

FDA, GFSI

) Review supplier documentation and verify that raw materials meet G&S Foods' requirements and specifications. Identify root causes of quality issues, manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), and evaluate supplier action plans to prevent recurrence. Monitor supplier performance metrics, develop scorecards, and drive continuous improvements to minimize defects. Evaluate supplier risk, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and participate in the approval of new suppliers. Act as the main point of contact between suppliers an internal manufacturing, quality, R&D and procurement teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related technical/science field. Two + years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing in a regulated environment (e.g. food & beverage, packaging) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in food safety principles (HACCP, PCQI), quality tools (Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, SPC), and specification analysis. Experience with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, (e.g. Deacom, SAP, Oracle) and quality management software. Ability to travel for supplier on-site audits and inspections (approximately 10%) ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CSQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred. Why G&S Foods?
