Job DescriptionEurofins is searching for a Lean Industrial Engineer to lead site specific initiatives and work with the team in the Lancaster, PA area. The Lean Industrial Engineer will support implementation of the "Eurofins Operational Excellence" methodology (based on Lean/5S) and support other internal consulting initiatives/ projects to industrialize and optimize lab processes across all labs of the group.

Lean Industrial Engineer - Senior Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Analyze current laboratory processes to identify opportunities for automation and lean improvementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation aligns with lean goals and business objectivesLead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and other lean initiatives to eliminate waste and improve flowMonitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, downtime, and qualityConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process failures or inefficienciesTrain staff on lean principlesSubject Matter Expert (SME) - Function as a site technical expert working closely with automation engineers, sustainability project managers, and laboratory operations to identify automation opportunities that will result in productivity gains and waste reductionDevelop tools to quantify labor savings, waste reduction, and carbon footprint impact resulting from Lean projectsManage projects through completion and monitor project outcomes; personally execute action items, as applicablePerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsThe ideal candidate would possess:

Expert understanding of Lean methodology and operational excellence principlesFormal and on-the-job Lean training with 3+ years of successful Lean implementation experienceLean Certification by an accredited body preferredAbility to evaluate complex cross-functional processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop strategic recommendationsLead value stream mapping and future-state design across departments and business unitsAdvanced ability to analyze complex datasets, develop dashboards, identify trends, and communicate business impactExpert problem-solving skills utilizing Lean tools, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologiesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Visio, Power BI, and project management toolsLead Kaizen events, 5S, standard work, visual management, mistake-proofing, and value stream mapping initiativesStrong project management skills with demonstrated success leading multiple complex projects simultaneouslyLeads organizational change initiatives and drives adoption of new processes and technologiesExcellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate to all organizational levels, including executive leadershipCoaches, mentors, and trains employees and leaders on Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologiesAbility to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authorityStrong interpersonal and leadership skills with experience directing teams, facilitating workshops, and managing multiple resourcesAbility to plan, prioritize, and execute responsibilities with minimal directionAbility to align Lean initiatives with site, business, and organizational strategyAbility to quantify labor savings, ROI, productivity gains, cost avoidance, and waste reduction from improvement initiativesEvaluates automation opportunities, develops business cases, and collaborates with technical teams on implementation strategiesExceptional organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environmentChampions quality, ethics, compliance, and customer-focused continuous improvement initiativesDemonstrated resilience, adaptability, and ability to lead through organizational change
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science; Industrial Engineering preferredMinimum 3 years of related experience working on Lean or Process Improvement projectsAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipAdditional InformationPosition is Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.
