Type:
full-time ReMarkets is looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team in Greencastle, PA . We're looking for someone with at least 2 years of hands-on industrial engineering experience who enjoys solving operational problems, working with data, and turning observations into practical process improvements. In this role, you'll work closely with Operations to analyze processes, identify opportunities, and support improvements in productivity, workflow, labor utilization, capacity, and overall operational performance . The right person for this role is analytical and curious, but also comfortable stepping away from the desk and onto the production floor. We want someone who asks good questions, understands how to evaluate a process, and can work collaboratively with the people doing the work to help make it better. You'll have the opportunity to build on your existing experience while continuing to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility as you grow with the organization. What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities): Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement Analyze operational processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies, constraints, waste, and opportunities for improvement. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, process mapping, root cause analysis, and other industrial engineering tools. Develop solutions that improve productivity, quality, throughput, material flow, labor utilization, and overall operational performance. Establish methods for measuring the effectiveness and sustainability of implemented improvements. Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, capacity analysis, and other operational assessments as appropriate. Process Design & Standardization
- Develop, document, and standardize operational processes and procedures to promote consistency, quality, safety, and scalability.
- Create process maps, standard work, operating procedures, and other supporting documentation.
- Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to ensure processes reflect practical operating requirements and organizational best practices.
- Support implementation and adoption of standardized processes across applicable facilities and functions.
- Facility & Warehouse Optimization
- Analyze and optimize facility layouts, warehouse configurations, workstations, material movement, and production flows.
- Develop layout recommendations that improve space utilization, reduce unnecessary handling and travel, and support efficient movement of materials and assets.
- Evaluate current and future capacity requirements and recommend changes to support operational growth, volume fluctuations, and changing product complexity.
- Incorporate safety, ergonomics, productivity, and operational requirements into facility and workstation designs.
- Operations Planning & Capacity
- Support operations planning and scheduling through analysis of labor, equipment, capacity, throughput, and production requirements.
- Identify operational constraints and bottlenecks that may affect production goals or customer requirements.
- Develop models and recommendations to improve resource allocation and operational capacity.
- Partner with Operations leadership to evaluate changing volume, product mix, complexity, and staffing requirements.
- Data Analysis & Performance Measurement
- Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance and improvement initiatives.
- Gather and analyze operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) analysis where applicable to identify equipment downtime, performance losses, and quality-related issues.
- Translate complex operational data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Prepare reports, analyses, and presentations for operational and senior leadership.
- Systems, Automation & Technology
- Identify opportunities to use automation, technology, equipment, and systems to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Partner with Operations and IT to evaluate and improve Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and other operational technologies.
- Support system and process changes that improve data accuracy, asset tracking, workflow visibility, and operational control.
- Assist with the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of new operational technologies and equipment.
- Project & Change Management
- Lead or support operational improvement projects from concept through implementation, including defining scope, requirements, timelines, deliverables, and success measures.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to ensure projects remain aligned with operational and business objectives.
- Evaluate operational risks associated with process, equipment, layout, capacity, or system changes and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support change-management activities to facilitate successful adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Monitor implemented changes and make adjustments as necessary to achieve intended results. Collaboration, Training & Operational Support
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Logistics, IT, Safety, and other teams to develop and implement operational improvements.
- Engage directly with employees and leaders on the production and warehouse floor to understand current processes and identify practical improvement opportunities.
- Support training and knowledge transfer related to new processes, standard work, equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by helping teams identify problems, understand root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Provide technical and analytical support to operational leadership as business needs evolve.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring (requirements):
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
- Relevant experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, warehouse operations, distribution, production, or a similar operational environment.
- Experience applying Lean, continuous improvement, process engineering, or operational excellence methodologies.
- Experience managing or supporting cross-functional operational improvement projects.
- Experience within electronics recycling, asset recovery, refurbishment, manufacturing, distribution, or a related environment is preferred. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in secure environments.
- Spanish/English bilingual preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical, data-driven solutions.
- Knowledge of Lean principles, process improvement methodologies, standard work, process mapping, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis, capacity analysis, root cause analysis, and operational performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of warehouse, production, material-flow, and facility-layout concepts.
- Ability to analyze and improve labor utilization, throughput, workflow, and operational capacity.
- Knowledge of OEE and other operational performance measurement methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data-analysis and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with ERP, WMS, process-modeling, operational systems, and basic CAD abilities
- Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to both operational and senior leadership audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
- Ability to influence change and gain stakeholder support without relying solely on direct authority.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to adapt to changing operational priorities, production demands, and business requirements.
