Description Wabtec US Rail, Inc. dba Wabtec Corporation seeks Lead Supplier Quality Engineering Specialist in Erie, PA.
Accurate and rigorous evaluation of current and potential suppliers using multiple tools.
On-time execution of New Component Introduction (PPAP) projects.
Maintain and upgrade product and process quality at suppliers.
Drive and ensure compliance to supplier facing processes (Audits, PPAP, CARs, SDRs)
Identify and qualify new products and suppliers in the region to drive growth.
Collaborate with other functions as required to execute PPAP projects.
Develop positive relationships and work closely with Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement supplier and engineering changes (New Product Introductions).
Execute the supplier evaluation process including quality & compliance audits and assessments to ensure that only appropriately qualified suppliers are taken through the process.
Work with sourcing and commodity team to meet business objectives of new supplier addition.
Train and drive suppliers to use our tools and upload objective evidence of PPAP step closure.
Work closely with Engineering team to ensure adequate understanding of product risks and severities of failure.
Lead robust root cause analysis & corrective actions as required.
Work closely with Sourcing team to ensure PPAP timelines are adhered to and stated capacity is established.
Conduct audits in keeping with good practices and publish professional reports in the appropriate system.
Identify and communicate best practices and risks.
Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to close findings and improve supplier processes. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of related experience. Required experience must include any amount of experience in all of the following:
Quality tools used to manage supplier quality
Quality Engineering
Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings
ISO, IRIS, or other certifying bodies' standards, quality procedures, tools, and audit techniques
Manufacturing, material flow, process change, and quality processes
Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing operations Telecommuting permitted.
