Job Description
What You'll Do As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting daily quality execution activities and driving continuous improvement efforts across the organization. Key Responsibilities Support quality execution activities across manufacturing plants, sourced products, and distribution operations. Analyze warranty claims, customer concerns, audit findings, and quality performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Lead containment activities and support rapid response actions for manufacturing, supplier, customer, and field quality issues. Drive corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis. Conduct product audits, process audits, layered process audits, and quality system reviews to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness. Support implementation and verification of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), process improvements, and packaging enhancements. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sourcing, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to reduce defects and prevent recurring issues. Participate in new product launch activities, including inspections, quality validation, DFMEA, and PFMEA reviews. Track and communicate quality metrics, corrective action status, audit results, and escalation items to leadership. Assist with supplier quality investigations and corrective action activities. Travel to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, distribution centers, and customer locations as needed to support audits, investigations, and improvement initiatives. Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing product quality, process consistency, and customer satisfaction. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in a quality engineering, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or related role. Experience with quality tools and methodologies, including: Root Cause Analysis 8D Problem Solving CAPA Processes DFMEA and PFMEA Auditing and Quality Systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable improvements. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and locations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, furniture, consumer products, or related industries. Familiarity with warranty analysis, supplier quality management, and continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Why Join Flexsteel?
