6 month contract to hire OR Direct Hire Job Summary The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for the quality oversight of suppliers, contract manufacturers and extended factories. The successful candidate will drive effective problem-solving, continuous improvement strategies and proactive solutions in order to assure best-in-class supplier quality performance. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Own all aspects of supplier quality for assigned component, assembly and contract manufacturing suppliers globally Engage throughout the product lifecycle, internally and with suppliers, to assure supplier quality outcomes meet all requirements Develop and deploy supplier, contract manufacturer and extended factory quality management strategies Investigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause and identify/implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Issue SCARs, ensuring supplier engagement and responsiveness Participate in defining and managing quality assurance strategies and plans to reduce parts DOA events at manufacturing and customer sites Prevent supplier quality escapes and ensure prompt and effective issue resolution Facilitate process/product change notifications (PCNs) from suppliers, in order to meet internal and customer requirements Develop and execute audit and site inspection plans for suppliers and contract manufacturers' QMS and process controls. Assure effective closure of audit non-conformances Assure supplier compliance to Supplier Quality Agreements Monitor and report appropriate supplier quality metrics. Participate in developing supplier scorecards, and work with suppliers to improve performance Lead QMS improvement initiatives with suppliers, in order to meet

requirements Manage and drive supplier meetings and quarterly business reviews, and assure closure of actions Establish cross-functional working relationships and collaboration across the enterprise (includes engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, field service and other functions) Assure complete and thorough process and records documentation Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Optics, Physics or a related field 7-10 years' experience in a technology industry 3-5 years supplier quality or quality engineering experience Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering, Optics, Physics or a related field Semiconductor manufacturing or capital equipment industry experience and/or a Manufacturing Engineering background, preferably in metrology semi-equipment manufacturing Operational quality and manufacturing engineering experience Skills Needed Leadership, technical and project management skills Proven problem-solving skills (4D/8D) Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation Data mining and analysis skills Lean/Six Sigma experience including working knowledge of FMEA, Kaizen, Gage R&R and SPC control methods Adaptability and ability to operate in fast-paced and highly-complex environments with demonstrated proficiency in prioritization Ability to manage remote teams and suppliers Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Quality Auditor certifications a plus Job Requirements Full-time, located in Bloomington, MN Flexibility and availability for virtual meetings across time zones Travel 15-25%
