Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Engineering Technician at
MIDCON CABLES CO INC
will support engineering teams by performing a variety of critical tasks that enhance and develop process work instructions, evaluate manufacturing processes, and initiate engineering change notices. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of engineering processes within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and enhancement of process work instructions. Evaluate and analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement. Initiate and manage engineering change notices to ensure accurate and up-to-date engineering documentation. Utilize Microsoft Office software proficiently to document and communicate engineering processes and changes. Apply lean thinking principles to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Collaborate effectively within a self-directed, cross-functional work team environment to meet rapidly changing demands. Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of engineering terminology and concepts. Utilize basic skills in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and/or Solidworks, to support engineering tasks. Leverage IT skills, particularly with Windows-based hardware and software, to enhance engineering processes and documentation.
Required Education:
Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Required Experience:
Experience in developing and enhancing process work instructions. Experience in evaluating manufacturing processes. Experience in initiating engineering change notices. High proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude. Basic knowledge of engineering terminology and concepts. Understanding and application of lean thinking. Ability to work well in a self-directed, cross-functional work team environment with rapidly changing demands.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Basic skills in CAD software, specifically AutoCAD and/or Solidworks. IT skills, particularly with Windows-based hardware and software.
