Job Description The Mass Production Parts Quality Analyst leads in-depth analysis of quality issues for mass production components, focusing on either weld or plastic suppliers. This role drives root cause analysis, coordinates supplier countermeasures, and ensures that non-conforming conditions are eliminated before they impact manufacturing operations. The analyst prepares and reviews technical quality documentation, sets technical requirements for supplier change points, and mentors team members on problem-solving methods and parts quality processes. Responsibilities Lead detailed analysis of quality problems for mass production parts, including precise measurements and data review, to minimize impact on downstream manufacturing departments. Prepare and submit comprehensive technical documents that clearly communicate quality problems to suppliers using the NARS Honda Trouble Report (HTR) system. Present quality concerns and analysis results to suppliers and internal stakeholders to initiate effective countermeasure actions. Set technical requirements for supplier part change points using the NA Change Point Control System (CPCS). Evaluate and approve supplier quality documents and change point proposals before implementation in production. Lead supplier Quality Assurance Visits (QAVs) to communicate quality concerns, review corrective actions, and confirm that countermeasures are implemented and effective in eliminating non-conforming conditions. Perform judgment, disposition, and handling functions for non-conforming part issues, including decisions on rework, scrap, or acceptance. Judge and verify the quality of parts received from suppliers to ensure they meet required specifications and standards. Effectively solve quality problems using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and other structured problem-solving methodologies. Approve supplier countermeasures and supplier change points prior to production usage to ensure robust and sustainable quality improvements. Conduct complex problem-solving analyses and investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence of quality issues. Mentor and support new associates within the group on problem-solving techniques, procedures, and the parts quality function and responsibilities. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering. At least 2 years of quality engineering experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with quality engineering and quality assurance practices. Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCCA) and structured problem-solving methods. Experience with automotive quality systems and standards such as TS16949. Ability to effectively use quality tools, including Fishbone diagrams, 8D methodology, 5WHY, and RCCA. Practical understanding of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). Capability to judge part quality received from suppliers and make sound disposition decisions. Ability to approve supplier countermeasures and change points based on technical and quality criteria. Strong communication skills to prepare and present technical quality documentation to suppliers and internal teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment or CMM data analysis. Understanding of welding processes for weld supplier-focused roles. Understanding of plastic injection molding for plastics supplier-focused roles. Experience working in an OEM automotive or power sports manufacturing environment. Familiarity with systems such as NARS Honda Trouble Report (HTR) and NA Change Point Control System (CPCS). Ability to lead supplier Quality Assurance Visits (QAVs) and collaborate effectively with supplier quality teams. Experience mentoring or training team members on quality tools, procedures, and problem-solving methods. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Timmonsville, SC.
