Job Description

Our client is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality performance, lead corrective action initiatives, and reduce manufacturing defects and material-related scrap. This role partners closely with suppliers, engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure purchased materials meet quality expectations and support continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead supplier quality investigations, containment activities, and corrective action efforts. Partner with suppliers to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions using methodologies such as 8D and continuous improvement tools. Coordinate material sorting and containment activities with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party providers. Track and analyze supplier-related quality issues, assembly damage, and scrap trends. Drive process improvement initiatives using DMAIC , Pareto analysis, trend analysis, and data-driven action plans. Manage the supplier failure analysis process, including tracking returned materials and ensuring timely supplier responses. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Process Engineering, and Test Engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce costs. Support
ISO 9001
quality management activities, including internal audits, documentation, calibration, and continuous improvement efforts. Prepare reports and communicate quality performance metrics to management and key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical field. 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or a related discipline. Experience working within
ISO 9001
quality systems. Knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective actions, supplier quality processes, and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, engineering teams, and leadership. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
