Full time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to lead engineering, capital projects, equipment improvements, and plant infrastructure initiatives at a bakery manufacturing facility producing a variety of baked goods. The ideal candidate will bring strong plant engineering and project management experience, along with the ability to work closely with operations, maintenance, production, quality, and other plant leadership teams. This role is well suited for an experienced engineering professional who understands the demands of a high-volume manufacturing environment and can effectively lead both people and projects. Responsibilities Supervise and direct the Engineering department in preparing plans, specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation for new equipment installations and modifications to existing plant equipment. Lead engineering projects supporting bakery production equipment, facility improvements, utilities, and manufacturing processes. Supervise plant personnel during construction, equipment installation, upgrades, and modification projects. Manage the administration and cost guidelines of the Capital Budget (CAPEX) program, including vendor and contractor negotiations and project management. Take a primary role in developing, organizing, and presenting the annual CAPEX budget. Prepare required capital project documentation, budget reports, project evaluations, and financial analyses. Evaluate equipment and facility improvement opportunities with a focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, and production capacity. Work closely with the Plant Superintendent, Maintenance, Quality, Production, and other plant leadership teams to identify and prioritize engineering initiatives. Provide technical leadership and support for plant equipment selection, installation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Ensure engineering projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable standards and company requirements. Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline such as Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. Requirements & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in plant engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field. Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or food production environment strongly preferred. Experience with industrial production equipment, equipment installation, plant maintenance, and equipment selection. Supervisory or engineering leadership experience required. Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and CAPEX budgets. Strong project management, vendor management, and contractor oversight skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Bilingual in Spanish and English Preferred Qualifications Experience in bakery, food manufacturing, food processing, or related manufacturing industries . Experience with commercial or industrial baking equipment and production systems. Experience managing engineering projects within a high-volume production facility. Familiarity with plant utilities, facility systems, preventive maintenance, and manufacturing equipment reliability. Bilingual in Spanish and English Compensation $100,000-$125,000 annually , depending on experience and qualifications. We are particularly interested in candidates whose background demonstrates substantial plant engineering experience and a track record of successfully managing capital projects, equipment installations, and manufacturing facility improvements.
