Job Title:
Industrial Engineer (ERP Implementation) Job Description This Industrial Engineer role focuses on supporting a major transition from an AS400 platform to a Plex ERP system by developing, validating, and maintaining accurate manufacturing standards. You will conduct detailed time studies, document labor and process standards, and ensure data integrity to configure the ERP system correctly. Working closely with operations, production, and IT teams, you will align real-world manufacturing processes with the new ERP environment to improve efficiency, visibility, and scalability across the organization. Responsibilities + Support the migration from AS400 to Plex ERP by building and validating key manufacturing data inputs, including routings, labor standards, and cycle times. + Collaborate with the ERP implementation team to define process flows, work centers, and production reporting structures that accurately reflect manufacturing operations. + Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data used for scheduling, costing, and capacity planning within the Plex ERP system. + Participate in ERP testing, validation, and go-live support activities to ensure a smooth and successful implementation. + Conduct detailed time studies on the production floor to establish accurate standard work and labor content. + Analyze machine cycles, labor content, and process variation to understand true production performance. + Develop and document standard work instructions, labor routings, and process standards to support consistent operations. + Identify opportunities for standardization across similar products and processes to improve efficiency and consistency. + Map current-state manufacturing processes and align them with future-state ERP workflows to ensure system accuracy. + Validate bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and work center definitions to ensure they match actual production practices. + Ensure alignment between actual floor practices and ERP system configuration, adjusting data or processes as needed. + Support the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) tied to ERP transactions and production activities. + Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and non-value-added activities during time studies and process reviews. + Recommend process improvements that reduce labor cost, improve throughput, and enhance data accuracy. + Support lean initiatives such as 5S, standard work, and waste reduction as part of continuous improvement efforts. + Partner with operations teams to implement process improvements in conjunction with ERP-related changes. + Work closely with production supervisors, operators, manufacturing engineering, and IT teams to align goals and activities. + Train stakeholders on standard work practices and ERP-related process changes to promote adoption and compliance. + Serve as a liaison between manufacturing and ERP implementation teams to ensure clear communication and alignment. + Contribute to achieving key performance indicators, including accuracy of labor standards and routing data, successful ERP data migration and adoption, reduction in labor variance and production cost inaccuracies, process efficiency improvements, and on-time completion of time studies and documentation milestones. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. + At least 2 years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. + Hands-on experience conducting time studies and establishing labor standards in a production setting. + Experience supporting ERP implementations or working with manufacturing ERP systems. + Strong understanding of production workflows, routings, and bill of materials (BOM) structures. + Proficiency in time study methodologies such as stopwatch studies, MOST, or work sampling. + Experience using data analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel. + Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and waste reduction concepts. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making. + Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced production environment. + Excellent communication and documentation skills for conveying findings, standards, and procedures. + High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and process consistency. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Plex ERP is a plus. + Experience in industrial product manufacturing is a plus. + Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus. + Experience supporting system cutovers or broader digital transformation initiatives is a plus. + Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and analysis. + Background in continuous improvement or industrial engineering projects focused on efficiency and standardization. Work Environment This role operates primarily on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility to start earlier between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The position is based primarily onsite in a manufacturing facility, combining office work with frequent time spent on the production floor observing processes and collecting data. You will work in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, particularly during ERP implementation phases, and use standard office and manufacturing technologies to support data analysis, documentation, and process validation.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
