Job Description:
The Industrial Manufacturing Systems Engineer will be responsible for evaluating manufacturing operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role serves as a key resource for manufacturing systems, automation initiatives, process optimization, and data-driven decision making across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze production workflows and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities. Develop and implement solutions that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve process reliability. Utilize manufacturing data, analytics, and modeling tools to support operational decision-making. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing execution, maintenance, quality, warehouse, and energy management systems. Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and IT teams to drive process enhancements. Support the implementation and integration of automation technologies and digital manufacturing solutions. Optimize material flow systems, including automated guided vehicle (AGV) operations and related technologies. Create and maintain process maps, value stream analyses, and facility layout plans. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness. Support asset management and equipment tracking initiatives. Ensure manufacturing systems and processes comply with applicable industry standards and best practices. Collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders on system improvements and future-state manufacturing projects. Participate in additional engineering and continuous improvement activities as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience improving manufacturing processes and implementing operational system solutions. 3+ years of direct Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering experience. Hands-on experience with manufacturing technologies such as MES, SCADA, EAM, WMS, QMS, EMS, or related platforms. Experience creating value stream maps, process flow documentation, and facility layouts. Background working in highly automated production environments. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
Additional Details:
Experience within battery manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or other high-volume production environments is strongly preferred. Exposure to robotics, automation, smart factory technologies, and Industry 4.0 initiatives is highly desirable. Candidates should be comfortable working cross-functionally and driving change in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
