Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Packaging Manager (PM) to oversee and manage our packaging inventory operations. Manages day to day responsibilities including the overall process and timeline, works proactively to help solve challenges that occur throughout the project, and develops strong client relationships. Partners and consults across the packaging development function to identify and resolve project issues; resolves the most complex problems using strong technical and category knowledge, and consumer insights. The Packaging Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of packaging development for packaging projects including New Innovation, Redesign, Line Extensions, and Maintenance for the client. Monitors and communicates project milestones and progress to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget. The Packaging Manager is client facing and will collaborate across multiple stakeholders both internally and externally within the client network and will be the constant liaison in the packaging development process. Responsibilities Maintain and ensure compliance to packaging schedule and assign specific tasks to all employees and monitor all packing equipment and supplies. Acquire a working knowledge and utilize the Famous Packaging Module to manage on hand packaging inventory for both Wray and Atlanta facilities. Standardize best practices, item codes, descriptions, and count sheets across both Wray and Atlanta facilities. Maintain required inventory of all packaging department inventory Create packaging department schedules to ensure that all packaging is performed and completed in a timely fashion. Analyze and determine all standards for packaging lines and ensure compliance to all schedules for processes and develop and maintain all packing orders effectively. Monitor and recommend improvements in processes to increase efficiency of packaging department and monitor inventory for warehouse and maintain records of all physical transactions and prepare documents for same. Maintain accurate records and reports. Coordinate with quality and warehouse departments to monitor everyday activities of units and ensure efficient working of both production and packaging equipment. Manage all work according to packing schedule and maintain an inventory of materials and completion of all projects within required timeframe. Work closely with Account Managers to maintain team environment in department and resolve all packing issues in coordination with quality department. Analyze situations to provide solutions that are in the best interest of the company. Coordinate with plant manager and evaluate all projects and recommend ways to reduce cost and improve quality of all processes and provide necessary training and counseling to employees as per requirement. Develop and maintain professional relationships with all external vendors and contractors and improve efficiency process through incorporation of new technology. Implement and document proper standardized procedures for packaging department at all locations. Verify and monitor completion of responsibilities as outlined via the packaging department work schedule. Ensure that packaging department employees are performing job duties. Ensure that employees are abiding by Company policies via the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual. Train new and existing employees on the required job duties. Participate in cross-functional team meetings as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 4 years of experience or 8 years of experience in packaging/inventory management preferred, preferably in the fresh food industry. Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices, including demand forecasting, replenishment, and stock control. Proficient in using inventory management software and ERP systems, experience with Famous preferred.

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
