Job Description

Process Engineer II - Water Treatment Systems Job Summary The Process Engineer II is an early- to mid-career engineer who independently supports the design, sizing, and documentation of ultra-pure water (UPW) and reclaim water treatment systems for high-tech and industrial facilities. This role works with limited supervision and produces complete, review-ready technical deliverables. This position involves performing calculations, developing process documentation, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet performance, cost, schedule, and constructability requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform system sizing, process calculations, and mass balances for UPW and reclaim water systems Develop process specifications, design basis documents, and technical narratives Create and maintain PFDs, P&IDs, equipment lists, and supporting calculations Review vendor data, proposals, and submittals for technical accuracy and system integration Participate in client and internal design discussions, clearly explaining design intent and assumptions Coordinate with automation and controls teams to align process design with system operation Support project teams (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) in resolving process-related issues Assist with system startup and commissioning, including troubleshooting and performance verification Take ownership of assigned scopes while incorporating feedback and improving design practices Required Qualifications Working knowledge of ultra-pure water (UPW), reclaim, or industrial water treatment systems Familiarity with technologies such as RO, ion exchange (IX/EDI), filtration, and chemical treatment systems Ability to perform system sizing, calculations, and mass balances with minimal supervision Experience developing process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, narratives, specs, equipment lists) Strong collaboration skills with mechanical, electrical, automation, and design teams Familiarity with tools such as RO sizing software, pump sizing tools, or
PIPE-FLO
AutoCAD Plant 3D experience is a plus Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering , or a related field 2+ years of relevant experience in water treatment, process systems, or similar industries Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Additional Information Travel:
Periodic travel required for design reviews and commissioning (up to ~2 weeks at a time, several times per year depending on projects)

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
