Job Description

The SQM Engineer, ensures external suppliers provide high-quality materials meeting company, industry, and regulatory standards by conducting audits, developing quality plans, resolving issues through root cause analysis, and fostering supplier improvement, acting as a key liaison between suppliers, procurement, and internal teams to maintain supply chain integrity and product excellence
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Audits & Qualification :
Perform audits, assessments, and risk evaluations for new and existing suppliers to ensure compliance and capability.
Quality Control & Standards :
Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and supplier quality agreements.
Issue Resolution :
Manage supplier non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Performance Monitoring :
Establish KPIs, monitor supplier performance metrics, and report findings to management.
Supplier Development :
Train suppliers, facilitate communication, and work with them to enhance their processes and capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work with internal engineering, procurement, and production teams to integrate supplier quality into product development and manufacturing.
Documentation :
Maintain supplier quality records, documentation, and databases.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree, additional quality or technical certifications are a plus
  • 1-3 years of SQM experience in electronics, computer hardware, or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with server components (motherboards, CPUs, memory, cabling, etc.) preferred
  • Basic understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, and documentation requirements
  • Experience using ERP/WMS or QMS systems for tracking inspections and inventory
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and part specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IPC-A-610 or similar electronics inspection certification
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or RBA standards
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Key Skills:
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and follow structured processes
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • Basic computer literacy (email, Excel, ERP systems)
Work Environment:
  • Clean, climate-controlled server assembly warehouse
  • ESD protection is mandatory
  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods and handling small components
