Job Description
Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV. ECI has an immediate opening for an electrical engineer to perform detailed electrical and instrumentation engineering for our industrial customers. This position primarily involves work focused on industrial electrical systems, including instrumentation, controls, communications, and low- and medium-voltage power systems in oil and gas, mining and manufacturing facilities. The work consists of performing design calculations, developing equipment specifications, providing purchasing assistance, field documentation of existing systems, direct interaction with the client for planning and reporting, the creation of detailed electrical design drawings and documents for construction and future maintenance, electrical studies for both new and existing systems, programming of protection relays, VFDs, and related equipment, and more. The successful candidate must be able to design industrial power, control and instrumentation systems; perform project engineering management functions such as scheduling, estimating, tracking and communications; perform electrical system studies; and occasional marketing efforts. Familiarity with relevant IEEE standards and NFPA codes (particularly NFPA 70) is expected.
