Job Summary As a Process Engineer you will be responsible for all the metallurgical/materials characteristics pertaining to the investment casting process and our products. This may involve both new development and production castings. In this role you will be teamed up with a Product Engineer who will be responsible for the dimensional aspects of the process/product. The prime responsibility for this position is to engineer the highest yield and lowest overall cost product while meeting or exceeding all customer defined quality requirements. In this position you will work in a team environment with other engineers as well as hands-on with the manufacturing team so strong communication skills are required. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities Follows Howmet's Safety Regulations and work Rules Handbook along with all department specific safety requirements. Develops and debugs processes for production and developmental castings. Actively pursues the continuous improvement of existing processes. Supplies technical support to customers. Interacts with them regarding technical concerns Complies with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and some overtime. Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
Reads, analyzes, and interprets technical procedures. Effectively write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Presents information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Applies mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization to achieve goals. Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Motivated to continuously drive improvement in assigned portfolio of parts. Leadership ability is desired as this position benefits from being an influential engineer and demonstrated leadership is a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering from an accredited college or university. Investment casting experience Coursework or equivalent experience in basic statistical and analytical tools Minimum of 3 years' experience in Engineering or related field work Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment 3D modeling and drafting experience in Engineering or related coursework
