Job Summary:
Join a leading automotive manufacturer focused on delivering innovative, secure, and high-quality vehicle access solutions for major automotive brands. The Manufacturing Engineer II - Stamping is responsible for designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes that support stamping operations. This role oversees equipment, tooling, and process implementation throughout the product lifecycle, from development and launch through continuous improvement and end-of-life support. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who enjoys optimizing production efficiency, driving process improvements, and collaborating across teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of layouts, drawings, specifications, test methods, process flow diagrams, FMEA's and control plans. Should be familiar with AIAG format for above documentation. Responsible for projects and tasks. Assists on larger, more complex assignments under appropriate supervision. Coordinates the launch of new programs which may include new equipment, tooling and processes to ensure a smooth transition into production with minimal problems. Defines and coordinates continuous improvement for scrap, material flow, manufacturing set-up issues or the reduction of other process related costs. Participates in and facilitates problem-solving and continuous improvement activities utilizing various process models, DMAIC and statistical techniques. Responsible for the investigation of new equipment capabilities and the development of plans to take advantage of new technology. Participates as manufacturing process engineer as part of cross functional team. Assists in facilitating and coordinating advanced product planning for new designs, including capital requisitions as necessary. Assists in the preparation or coordination of required process validation activities during advanced product quality planning. Additional engineering responsibilities as assigned by a senior engineer or manager. Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering & 5 years of experience or equivalent experience as evaluated by the hiring manager is required. Ability to read, analyze and interpret drawings, specifications, periodicals and journals with support, as necessary, from more senior team members. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel. Proven problem-solving abilities and methodology. Self-motivated, adaptable and possesses strong planning and organizational skills. Able to manage multiple deliverables in a complex environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing / process engineering concepts is required. Familiarity with stamping manufacturing processes is required. Familiarity with AIAG documentation requirements is required. Familiarity with working in a union environment is preferred.

Pay:
$90,245.60 - $108,682.88 per year
