Job Description

Job Summary The Process Engineer reports to and works under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager and the general supervision of the Director of Operations. This job involves performing projects, studies and a variety of functions to promote efficient and effective utilization of Company equipment, facilities and personnel. Duties are performed with minimum supervision, but include meetings on planning, scheduling, progress, and difficulties encountered on projects or work assignments. Requires knowledge and involvement with plant maintenance, engineering, chemical systems, equipment such as kettle reactors, mixers, grinders, rolls, extruders, and presses, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and ISO. Essential Job Functions
  • Plan and oversee utilization of production facilities, equipment, and personnel
  • Conduct job studies and reviews, and create work instructions where necessary
  • Analyze systems, processes, and operations to find improvement opportunities
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts such as Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean
  • Manages engineering projects assigned including design, specifications, approvals, equipment and material purchases, installation and startup
  • Provide technical support to production departments
  • Facilitate and administer plant information systems such as the ERP, Barcoding, and Calibration systems
  • Assist with monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of ISO Quality Management System
  • Assist with monitoring, evaluating, and setting up manufacturing operations at Plenco de Mexico Recommended Experience and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline with 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team depending on the assignment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and support multiple departments
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
