Electro Mechanical Technician Location:
Sacramento, CA Compensation:
$50.39/hr
Schedule:
2:30 PM start time, OT required Temporary Power the Technology Behind World-Class Manufacturing Are you an experienced controls and automation professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges? We're looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining, improving, and optimizing highly automated production systems in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll work with cutting-edge automation technologies, lead technical projects, troubleshoot sophisticated control systems, and help drive continuous improvement across the facility. What You'll Do As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you'll be a key technical resource supporting plant operations and automation systems by: Installing, programming, calibrating, and commissioning industrial control and instrumentation systems Troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, electrical equipment, and process controls Working with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix platforms, FactoryTalk, RS Linx, and Stratix switches Supporting startup, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and production processes Performing online PLC monitoring, ladder logic troubleshooting, and system modifications to improve efficiency Developing and modifying Wonderware HMI screens Tuning PID loops and optimizing process performance Analyzing SCADA network data and recommending system enhancements Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation Leading technical aspects of capital projects and equipment installations Partnering with production teams to meet operational goals and minimize downtime Coordinating with contractors and external service providers on facility projects Maintaining compliance with GMP, Food Safety, Food Security, and Food Quality standards What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum 6 years of controls maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of industrial power distribution and electrical protection systems Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Coursework or training in electrical systems, instrumentation, and process controls Advanced experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and configuration Experience with Allen-Bradley automation platforms HMI programming experience Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications Ability to successfully complete a PLC/electrical assessment Preferred Qualifications Food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing experience Experience supporting highly automated production environments Strong communication and project collaboration skills Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience working on cross-functional project teams Blueprint reading proficiency Experience operating industrial equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Walk throughout a large manufacturing facility Climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and access elevated work areas Work in confined or restricted-access spaces Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds Work Environment You'll work in a dynamic manufacturing environment that may include exposure to: Industrial equipment and machinery High noise levels Temperature and humidity fluctuations Dust and wet conditions Extended periods of standing, walking, and occasional sitting Safety is a top priority, and all team members are expected to follow established safety, food quality, and operational procedures.
