at Department of Transportation in Schaumburg, Illinois, United States Job Description Essential Functions Coordinates review of contract plans and utility, water, and sewer relocation activities to minimize delays in highway improvement project completion. Ensures all utility, water, and sewer location, relocation, adjustment, and technical review activities on state-maintained highways comply with departmental policies, procedures, and specifications. Processes utility, water, and sewer permits and related technical documentation in a timely and accurate manner using departmental databases and digital systems. Maintains current and accurate location, permit, and status information in departmental databases, digital files, Geographic Information System ( GIS )/Computer Aided Design & Drafting ( CADD ) based resources, and related records for all utility, water, and sewer facilities on state highway right of way to support planning, maintenance, and future highway improvement projects. Monitors statutory and departmental relocation timeframes, including the 90-day law where applicable, to support timely relocation of utility facilities. Reviews and processes utility reimbursable agreements and city of Chicago force-account agreements and related technical documentation to support project delivery and compliance. Provides technical guidance to other district sections and bureaus and external agencies regarding utility accommodation policies, procedures, and engineering documentation requirements. Performs other duties and special assignments as assigned by the Utility Coordinator to support unit and section objectives. Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules and promotes fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Performs other duties as assign. Minimum Qualifications Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum PLUS five years of engineering experience; OR Seven years of engineering experience.
