Job Description
The Plant Tech Instrumentation & Mechanical Technician is a career level technician with knowledge of and experience with power plant maintenance principles, practices, concepts, and theories. Performs power plant maintenance activities involving the identification, diagnosis, and repair of power plant mechanical equipment issues. Nature of plant mechanic work is complex and requires technical practices. Key Responsibilities § Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence. § Diagnoses complex mechanical problems, recommends, directs and performs corrective action on mechanical equipment to maximize plant reliability and performance. § Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, overhauls and upgrades on mechanical related equipment to avoid unscheduled downtime. § Uses the Maximo system to provide, evaluate and maintain concise maintenance and equipment records to achieve an accurate historical account for future references. § Reviews PM's and adjust frequencies and tasks based on historical maintenance performed. § Communicates and coordinates with operations at the plant to maintain efficiency and performance. § Provides oversight of appropriate contractors for routine and outage maintenance activities. § Communicates to their supervisor to provide updates on maintenance activities, and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs. § Responsible for operating as the experienced maintenance staff within the power plant to execute preventative and reactive maintenance under minimal supervisor guidance. § Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems, analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments. Qualifications Required Education, Skills & Experience § High School Diploma or equivalent with related vocational or technical training preferred § 5-7+ years of related experience § Strong knowledge of leading practices for their practice area § Strong planning and project management skills § Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job § Demonstrated ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences § Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner § Strong customer focus and employee experience mindset § Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements; must be supported by market survey data. § Pass appropriate reclassification board.
