Job Title:
Mechanical Technician Job Description The Mechanical Technician prepares and finishes automotive surfaces by sanding, buffing, and detailing to achieve a high-gloss, mirror-like finish. This role uses hand and power tools, including angle grinders and other equipment, to remove imperfections from painted surfaces and support high-quality auto body and chassis production. Responsibilities Sand automotive and painted surfaces to remove imperfections and prepare them for finishing. Buff surfaces to achieve a high-gloss, mirror-like finish using appropriate tools and techniques. Use hand and power tools, including drills, screw guns, caulk guns, and angle grinders, in a safe and effective manner. Perform auto body detailing tasks to support overall vehicle and chassis appearance and quality. Measure materials and components accurately using a tape measure, ensuring precise dimensions as required by specifications. Work collaboratively in a team environment, communicating professionally with coworkers and following instructions from supervisors. Follow established procedures and quality standards to maintain consistency in workmanship. Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear. Carry out physically demanding tasks such as frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders. Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 40 pounds as part of daily work activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.55 - $19.55/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
