Position Description This position assists with utilization and safe use of equipment and supplies in Maker Space labs or other labs as needed. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described. Prepares equipment for laboratory use Maintains an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies Assists students in labs with understanding the objectives of the laboratory Assists students in developing troubleshooting skills Assists with preparing and setting up equipment and parts needed to conduct laboratory assignments Assists instructors as needed with lab equipment Assists with lab safety and procedures Confers with instructors to determine supply and equipment needs Performs maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools, including machine tools Knowledge of lab safety procedures and processes Willingness to learn and help others Fundamental experience and knowledge of college level CAD systems
Requirements:
Current Wake Tech Student enrolled in a program in the Engineering, Technology and skilled trades division with a minimum of 9 college credit hours completed and a GPA of 3.0 or higher Preferenc es: One year of experience in Mechanical Engineering Technology OR an equivalent combination of education and experience As an equal employment opportunity employer, Wake Tech values our workforce.
