Job Description

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations from concept development and equipment implementation through ongoing production and continuous improvement. This position will be responsible for manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, quality documentation, process efficiency, and production support. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with production, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for production operations. Create machinery and tooling specifications for new and existing manufacturing projects. Analyze production efficiency, equipment downtime, and process performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Develop solutions and countermeasures to improve productivity, quality, and equipment performance. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Process Flow Charts, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Workmanship Standards, and production check sheets. Support equipment and tooling procurement, including developing specifications, identifying suppliers, and obtaining budgetary quotations. Conduct machinery and tooling run-offs and buy-offs to ensure equipment meets specifications before release to production. Evaluate equipment cycle times, safety, ergonomics, and process capability using measurements such as Cpk and Ppk . Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, with a strong emphasis on scrap reduction and process efficiency. Analyze scrap and quality trends and develop corrective actions to reduce waste. Partner with Maintenance to support preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts requirements, equipment reliability, and tooling needs. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes, machinery, and tooling. Participate in cross-functional team activities, including plant layouts, APQP activities, new product/process launches, and continuous improvement projects. Train production team members and technicians on processes, equipment, quality expectations, and manufacturing best practices. Provide manufacturing engineering support across production operations, including off-shift support when required. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with established quality, environmental, and company standards. Provide engineering support throughout all stages of heat exchanger production. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university OR a 2- or 3-year technical/engineering diploma with at least 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and process improvement. Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, process flow documentation, and other manufacturing quality tools preferred. Understanding of process capability measurements, including Cpk and Ppk. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint. AutoCAD experience preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and other cross-functional teams. Project management experience is a plus. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing engineer who is comfortable spending time on the production floor, troubleshooting problems, analyzing data, and working directly with production teams. You should enjoy identifying the root cause of manufacturing issues and implementing practical solutions that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.
Pay:
Up to $70,000.00 per year
