Job Description
About the Role As an Industrial Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical lead for plant-wide electrical and control systems, driving initiatives that maximize operational uptime and safety. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation projects, from initial design and PLC programming to final commissioning, ensuring our manufacturing processes remain at the cutting edge of efficiency. Responsibilities Optimize production performance by analyzing system data and implementing advanced control logic improvements. Design and integrate complex automation hardware, including PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and HMI interfaces. Lead the execution of capital projects by managing vendor bids, technical specifications, and construction oversight. Troubleshoot critical electrical failures and programming bottlenecks to minimize downtime and enhance reliability. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including as-built drawings and software backups for MES and control platforms. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all electrical installations meet rigorous safety and regulatory standards. Required Skills 5+ years of professional experience in industrial automation or electrical controls. Expert-level proficiency in PLC programming, specifically with Allen Bradley systems. Strong technical background in AutoCAD for electrical schematic design and print interpretation. In-depth knowledge of electrical safety codes and industrial best practices. Preferred Skills Experience with HMI development platforms such as Wonderware or PanelView. Proven track record of leading technical teams or external contractors in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with Rexroth or SAF drive components.
