Manufacturing Project Engineer Position Overview The Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to support operational excellence. This position focuses on improving production efficiency, maintaining product quality, enhancing workplace safety, and reducing manufacturing costs through engineering solutions, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and equipment to identify opportunities for improved productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing procedures, engineering standards, technical documentation, and equipment specifications. Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment comply with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve operational performance. Lead and support engineering projects involving process improvements, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing technology. Coordinate the introduction of new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes into production. Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including waste reduction, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement projects. Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including technical drawings, process specifications, and equipment records. Assist in establishing long-term manufacturing technology plans and identifying opportunities for modernization and automation. Provide technical guidance and engineering support to manufacturing personnel and cross-functional project teams. Monitor project progress, coordinate resources, and ensure engineering initiatives are completed within established timelines and budgets. Analyze manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Work closely with internal engineering teams and other departments to ensure successful execution of new product development and capital improvement projects. Required Experience Previous experience in manufacturing engineering, project engineering, or a related technical field. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience supporting manufacturing operations, engineering projects, or equipment implementation preferred. Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline required. Technical Skills and Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, tooling, and equipment design. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), technical specifications, and engineering procedures. Familiarity with CAD software; experience with Siemens NX or similar design platforms is a plus. Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Knowledge of process analysis, manufacturing equipment, and production optimization. Ability to interpret technical data, apply mathematical concepts, and use analytical methods to solve complex problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize assignments, and meet established deadlines. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to cross-functional teams. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
