Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Quality Engineer with experience in Micro-D connector manufacturing and aerospace quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of AS9100, process control, and electrical testing, as well as the ability to develop test programs for cable assemblies and Micro D connectors. This role will support continuous improvement initiatives, KPI development, and overall product quality in a high-reliability environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management system requirements across manufacturing processes. Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans for Micro-D connector production. Create and optimize electrical test programs for cable assembly and connectors test equipment. Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.). Develop, track, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quality, yield, and efficiency. Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits. Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues. Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure proper documentation, inspection standards, and work instructions are maintained. Train production staff on quality standards and testing procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering, preferably in aerospace or high-reliability electronics. Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and quality systems. Experience with Micro-D connectors or similar interconnect products is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with cable assembly electrical test systems and test program development. Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.). Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quality data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher). Experience with IPC standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620 and
J-STD-001
). Familiarity with ERP/MES systems.
