Located in Anaheim, GMI specializes in tight tolerance, complex gears, parts and assemblies for the aerospace/defense/medical/commercial oil/power/automotive industries. We have a wide array of in-house capabilities which include turning, milling, Wire
EDM, ID/OD
grinding, internal/external gear grinding, form grinding, hobbing, shaping, honing, broaching etc. The Manufacturing Engineer position reports to our Senior Engineer and works closely with quality and department leaders to develop and prove manufacturing methods.
Job Duties:
Create planning for new orders including any tooling, fixtures etc. Review and improve current planning Calculates set-up & run times for shop standards Review purchase order T&C's/Quality clauses flow downs & specifications, apply to routing as necessary Create and review operational drawings Communicates with shop personnel to diagnose issues, make improvements etc. Communicates with customers and suppliers to diagnose issues, make improvements etc. Assist Estimating with quoting (when applicable)
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree + five years of related aerospace manufacturing engineering experience; a minimum of ten years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience or a minimum of five years of gear related manufacturing engineering experience Experience/Strong knowledge of hobbing, shaping, milling, turning, grinding and conventional machining operations. CAD experience, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Mastercam. Dimensioning and tolerancing Read blue prints / Interpret Drawings Tooling & fixture designing
