Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support the Preform Processing area at HTC, focusing on the successful industrialization of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production capabilities associated with the New Part Introduction (NPI) Cell Project. This role will serve as a key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure new products and processes are effectively transitioned into production. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting manufacturing readiness activities, process development, equipment implementation, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a hands-on manufacturing engineering professional capable of driving industrialization efforts while supporting production efficiency, quality, and safety objectives.
Manufacturing Engineer Key Duties:
Support industrialization activities for new aerospace components and manufacturing processes within the Preform Processing area. Provide manufacturing engineering support to the New Part Introduction (NPI) Cell Project, ensuring successful transition from development to production. Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities. Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure production readiness. Evaluate manufacturing layouts, workflows, tooling, and equipment to optimize efficiency, quality, and throughput. Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks associated with new products, processes, and equipment. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions related to manufacturing issues. Support process capability studies, process validation, and production qualification activities. Analyze production data and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Support capacity planning, production ramp-up activities, and manufacturing readiness reviews. Ensure compliance with company quality requirements and aerospace manufacturing standards. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage project timelines, deliverables, and implementation plans.
Core Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment. Experience supporting industrialization, production readiness, or New Product/Part Introduction (NPI) activities. Knowledge of manufacturing process development, process validation, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience supporting manufacturing equipment installation, qualification, commissioning, or startup activities. Strong understanding of root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and problem-solving techniques. Experience developing manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, and engineering specifications. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment involving engineering, quality, operations, and maintenance teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Strong communication, organization, and project coordination skills.
Desired Skills:
Exposure to regulated or aerospace manufacturing environments. Experience supporting composite manufacturing, preform processing, advanced materials, or automated manufacturing equipment. Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, or Production Part Approval methodologies. Experience with MES, ERP, or manufacturing execution systems. Knowledge of process capability studies and statistical process control (SPC). Experience supporting factory expansion, equipment industrialization, or production ramp-up projects. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification. Experience working in a high-volume, highly regulated manufacturing environment.
