Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multidisciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction. This role plays a key part in advancing the mission at Veev by supporting production with new equipment solutions and working to improve safety and processes efficiency by improving existing factory infrastructure. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, your work will directly support Veev's ability to scale operations and deliver innovative, high-quality housing solutions. The Role As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Veev, you will be a key part of a small, agile, well-resourced, and innovative Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team. The ME team at Veev has the broad mission of supporting the production team as a complement to the Process Engineering, Production Quality, EHS, R D and Maintenance teams. This role requires a project leader who is ready and able to collaborate cross-functionally to bring high-quality equipment solutions to a variety of production needs. The successful candidate will be comfortable with an even mix of office-work (CAD, project management, purchasing, research, data gathering and analysis, etc.) and work on the factory floor (understanding the day-to-day tasks of our assemblers and machine-operators, equipment trials, modification, and commissioning, hands-on problem-solving to keep the production line running, etc.) Responsibilities Own capex projects from concept to handover; act as project manager, design equipment, guide internal production or outsourcing, coordinate commissioning and handover to process engineering and maintenance teams for use in production. Lead equipment, process, and material handling continuous improvement efforts; work across Planning, Production, Logistics, Maintenance, EHS, Product Design, Finance and Legal departments to improve the operational efficacy of the organization. Manage the facility layout; create layout content as equipment enters, leaves and moves around the facility, integrate layouts from other teams into the central layout and maintain consistent standards. Must-Have Skills and Competencies Strong foundation in mechanical design and drafting principles, including applicable industry standards. Experience with parametric modeling (SolidWorks) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD). Working knowledge of residential architectural systems design. Ability to interpret and create technical drawings for manufacturing and installation. Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, materials, and production workflows, with the ability to design for manufacturability and assembly. Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation discipline. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
Education & Experience :
B.Sc. in Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant field (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Civil, etc.) or 4+ years equivalent, relevant experience 7-10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Equipment Engineer, Process Engineer or similar (11-14 years for non-degreed applicants) Nice-to-Have Skills and Competencies These skills, competencies, and qualifications would set you, as a candidate, apart but are not required for the role. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience/coursework Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP), Autodesk Certified User/Professional (ACU/ACP) or equivalent proficiency. Experience in or working knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes; CNC milling, roll-forming, welding, cutting/sawing, punching, drilling 3D-printing and Design for Additive Manufacturing experience or training Six-Sigma Certification or equivalent experience Residential or Commercial building trades experience Compensation Offers are based on a combination of experience, skills, and location. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 annually for Hayward, CA.
