- Full-time What to Expect The Process Engineer will be responsible for sustaining and continuously improving manual and semi-automated manufacturing processes across Body In White operations at Tesla Megafactory.
This role focuses on process execution, manufacturing standards, operator tooling, manufacturing instructions, and salable production methods to ensure safe, repeatable, and high-quality manufacturing. The engineer will partner closely with Production, Quality, Equipment Engineering, Design, EHS to develop robust manufacturing methos, optimize operator workflows, reduce process variation, and improve overall production efficiency. This role will have strong ownership of process standardization, manufacturing documentation, ergonomics, and production readiness. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, data-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with aggressive production goals and continuous improvement expectations. What You'll Do Own and improve manual and semi-automated manufacturing processes across Body in White operations. Develop scalable production methods focused on safety, quality, repeatability, and efficiency Analyze and optimize labor balance, workstation design, material flow, and operator work content. Create, validate, and maintain Manufacturing Instructions, standardized work, routings, and process documentation Ensure manufacturing standards accurately reflect engineering intent, product changes, and production best practices. Drive implementation of Engineering Changes into production processes and manufacturing documentation Define and improve hand tools, fixtures, workstation layouts, and operator interfaces to improve safety, accessibility, and repeatability. Drive ergonomic improvements to reduce variation and improve manufacturing consistency Partner with EHS and Production teams to optimize workstation safety and usability. Partner with Production, Quality, Equipment Engineering, Design, and NPI teams to support new product introduction, process changes, and sustaining manufacturing Support line launches, ramp activities, and manufacturing readiness efforts Develop and document rework procedures and troubleshooting guidance for manufacturing proceses What You'll Bring Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive, energy, or automated production systems Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining welding manufacturing processes, standardized work, and production methods Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including waste reduction, line balancing, workstation optimization, and process flow improvements.
