$60/hr - $100/hr on W2 We are looking for a hands?on Manufacturing Engineer to own and industrialize manufacturing processes for advanced hardware products, ensuring high quality, scalability, and strong lead times. You will partner closely with suppliers and EMS/contract manufacturers to define, qualify, and document PCBA and electromechanical assembly processes across NPI and sustaining production.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as technical lead for PCBA and electromechanical assembly (final assembly, test, and packout) across NPI and production. Define and industrialize end?to?end manufacturing processes for complex electronic systems, including FATP. Lead DFx (DFM/DFA/DFT/DFS/DFR), PFMEAs, control plans, and work instructions with R D, Test, Quality, and EMS. Develop and optimize SMT/THT processes for high?complexity PCBA, including stencil design, solder paste, and reflow/wave/selective profiles. Architect and improve FATP flows, automation, fixtures, and tooling to reduce cycle time, cost, and ergonomic risk. Own BOM and ECOs from prototype through production, ensuring correct implementation at EMS. Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, and reliability initiatives using data?driven problem solving. Act as the primary manufacturing technical interface with EMS partners and manage their deliverables to schedule.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with strong PCBA and electromechanical assembly background. Proven track record leading complex NPIs from development into high?volume manufacturing. Deep experience working with EMS/contract manufacturers and global supply partners. Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, automation, QA, and cost optimization. Hands?on troubleshooting skills at both PCBA and system levels. Excellent communication and cross?functional collaboration skills. Willingness to travel up to approximately 35%.
Preferred:
Experience with dense/complex PCBA, FATP, opto?electronics, or optical cabling. Knowledge of IPC/ISO and other quality/reliability standards. Experience with automation, fixtures, precision tooling, and CAD software. Lean Six Sigma or equivalent problem?solving certification.
