Job Description:
Project Engineer (Manufacturing / Capital Projects) Central Valley, CA (Onsite) $110K-$120K + Bonus + Full Benefits About the Role We are partnering with a well-established, large-scale food manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to lead capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives at a high-volume production facility. This role offers full ownership of projects from initial concept through installation, commissioning, and operational handoff, working closely with cross-functional teams across operations, maintenance, quality, and external vendors. Key Responsibilities Lead projects from ideation through design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and closeout Develop project scope, capital justifications (ROI/payback), and budgets Build and manage timelines, milestones, and resource plans (Gantt scheduling) Design equipment layouts and process systems (PFDs, P&IDs) Develop equipment specs and manage RFQs/RFIs and vendor selection Lead cross-functional design reviews (mechanical, electrical, controls) Coordinate FAT/SAT, startup, commissioning, and operational handoff Manage multiple capital and plant improvement projects simultaneously Drive risk assessments, pre-task planning, and MOC processes Provide project updates and reporting to leadership What You'll Bring 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, plant engineering, or capital project execution Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field Experience managing equipment installs, commissioning, and plant improvements Strong understanding of project lifecycle (design ? install ? startup) Knowledge of manufacturing systems, controls, and industrial equipment Experience with CAD tools and MS Office (Excel, Project, etc.) Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced plant environment Industry Environment High-volume process/manufacturing facility Strong emphasis on: safety (OSHA, EPA, FDA standards) food safety / quality systems (GMP, HACCP) Highly collaborative plant environment What's Offered Competitive salary: $110K-$130K 401(k) with company match Medical, Dental, Vision coverage Paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays) Tuition/Educational Reimbursement Long-term growth opportunities within a stable organization Additional on-site perks unique to the facility Why This Role This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who wants to: Own meaningful capital projects Work directly on the plant floor Drive real improvements in production efficiency Be part of a collaborative and growing manufacturing operation
