Manufacturing Systems Integration Contract Engineer Location:
Fremont, CA (with regular onsite support in Hayward, CA)
Work Schedule:
Fully Onsite (5 days/week)
Pay Rate:
$84.94 / Hourly Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Permanent work authorization is required, as current or future visa sponsorship/transfer is NOT available for this position. We can only accept independent W2 candidates for this opportunity. Corp-to-Corp (C2C) , 1099, or sub-contracting engagements are NOT available. Your Impact & Daily Rhythm You won't just be sitting behind a desk; you will be the go-to technical partner for process, software, and automation engineers across multiple Bay Area facilities.
The SCADA Architect:
You will design, build, and maintain high-performance SCADA solutions utilizing the Inductive Automation Ignition platform, pushing the limits of both Vision and Perspective modules.
The System Unifier:
You will bridge shop-floor hardware to enterprise data, connecting Ignition platforms to PLCs via Kepware OPC UA servers and feeding critical tracking data straight into
SAP ME/MII
systems.
The Line Hero:
You will deliver high-signal, hands-on troubleshooting right where the action happens, developing custom Python or Java tools to boost line reliability, optimize uptime, and clear out technical bottlenecks.
The Web Integration Specialist:
You will script complex database queries and configure web service calls to sync custom engineering tools seamlessly with plant infrastructure. The Profile We Are Looking For You are a self-motivated, collaborative systems engineer who loves high-stakes manufacturing environments and brings a customer-focused, team-first attitude to the floor.
Must-Haves:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Ignition Mastery:
5+ years of deep, hands-on experience building, launching, and scaling SCADA solutions with Inductive Automation Ignition , including absolute fluency in both Vision and Perspective modules .
Solid Programming Core:
Strong software engineering skills using high-level languages ( Python, Java , etc.) paired with the ability to write complex database queries.
The Plant Floor Edge:
5+ years of direct, in-person manufacturing plant floor support experience. You speak the language of automation and understand industrial system architectures.
Hardware & ERP Connectivity:
Practical knowledge integrating systems with PLCs via Kepware/OPC UA and linking SCADA platforms with
SAP ME/MII
frameworks.
Bonus Points If You Have:
A Master's degree in Engineering. Direct experience inside a fast-paced automotive manufacturing production environment.
