Team members collaborate across disciplines to develop high-quality technologies that help modernize and future-proof critical infrastructure. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Manufacturing/Processing Engineer role based in San Diego, CA. The Manufacturing/Processing Engineer will develop, optimize, and scale manufacturing processes for GridWrap's grid-enhancing products, focusing on quality, safety, and throughput. Daily responsibilities include designing and refining process parameters, conducting experiments and trials, collecting and analyzing production data, and troubleshooting equipment and process issues. The role will collaborate closely with R D, operations, and quality teams to transition new technologies from prototype to volume manufacturing, implement process controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will also prepare process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures, while supporting equipment commissioning, root cause analysis, and corrective actions on the production floor. Qualifications Strong foundation in Process Engineering and Manufacturing/Processing methods, with experience developing, optimizing, and scaling production processes. Applied Analytical Skills, including data analysis, statistical methods, and problem-solving for process improvement and root cause investigations. Experience in Research and Development (R D), including designing experiments, evaluating new materials or methods, and transferring processes from lab to production. Background in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, ideally with exposure to materials, coatings, or energy-related systems. Knowledge of Signal Processing or related analytical techniques is beneficial for monitoring, controlling, and diagnosing process equipment and system performance. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus. Familiarity with safety standards, quality systems, and lean or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 5S, SPC) is preferred. Ability to work on-site in a hands-on environment, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate technical information clearly in verbal and written form.
