Job Description

Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California . Overview The manufacturing engineer supports aerospace manufacturing operations by developing, implementing, and improving processes for aerospace components and assemblies, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and work instructions Support machining, assembly, and test operations for aerospace hardware Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to production processes Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to resolve production issues Lead and support first article inspections (FAI) and product launches Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and cost Support material review board (MRB) activities and root cause / corrective action efforts Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, internal standards, and customer requirements Provide shop floor support, troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process challenges Qualifications Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, or related field Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace production environment Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, inspection, tooling) Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
