Investigates, collaborates, and diagnoses to resolve production problems.
- Evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product requirements, material types, part features, machining processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality standards.
- Develops and improves methods for inspection and measurement, including Quality Plans for in-process and final inspection.
- Assures product and process quality by designing inspection methods and fixturing, testing process capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes.
- Familiar with chemical and physical properties of metals, including machinability, and how chemical and physical processes effect part features, i.e., dimensions, tolerances, and finishes.
- Confers with planning and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiar with AS9100 Quality Requirements. Knowledge of administrative procedures. Manages paper files and electronic records. Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of GD&T, good analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to interpret instructions both written and oral. Able to work in a team with co-workers to resolve work issues. Able to communicate effectively in English.Education and Experience:

require bachelor's degree in engineering. Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Level III requires minimum of 10 years of appropriate technical experience with Sorenson Engineering.Physical Demands:
Must be able to periodically walk and or travel to other areas of the plant, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with help, must have good eyesight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors.Work Environment:

Summary:
Responsible for ensuring processes for inspecting customer products are compliant with the most current Sorenson Engineering standards. Level I-Entry-level quality engineering position responsible for supporting the team by assisting in the creation of Quality Control Plans, Quality Inspection Programs and Final Inspection Programs. Provides administrative support of QIP file management. Level II-In addition to Level I responsibilities, is capable of approving Quality Control Plans, Quality Inspections Programs and Final Inspection Programs created by other team members. Advanced knowledge of SPC and SQC sampling processes as well as metrology software, applies this knowledge to optimize quality measurement processes.
