Sorenson Engineering is seeking a candidate with experience in manufacturing engineering, with CAD CAM development, CNC Programming, and training experience.
Summary:
Coordinates the assessment, development, scheduling and planning of technical production documentation for manufacturing departments. Knowledge of CAD, Inventor and other software programs needed to support manufacturing. Level I -Supports Manufacturing Process team by performing simple First Article Updates, QCP uploads, and scheduled MCP-QCP updates. Can work on simple new MCP-QCP's. Dependent on the Senior MPE Member/Technical Director and the rest of the team for assistance and scheduling. Level II -Works on more complicated updates and new MCP-QCP's. Reviews and Releases Methods of Manufacturing. Also coordinates simple customer communication for clarifications and deviations. Tasks to be completed in a timely manner with little supervision. Capable of self-directing daily work activities. Level III -Capable of performing all tasks of Levels I and II. Responsible for complicated MCP-QCP creation and updates in a timely and reliable manner. Capable of sending complex deviation/clarification requests with customers. Works collaboratively with team members, operational personnel and the Senior MPE Member/Technical Director without requiring daily supervision to solve complex documentation/MCP-QCP problems.
Responsibilities:
Schedules, plans and coordinates with engineers and production staff to create technical documentation for production. Manages documentation, customer drawings and production control plans for parts. Maintains revision control. Verifies customer drawings and control plans for errors prior to production release. Knowledge of materials, procedures, measuring instruments and equipment involved for production to meet Quality Objectives. Uses CAD and other software to create technical documentation for production. Knowledge of technical standards, GD&T symbols and units of measurement. Familiar with the chemical composition, structure and properties of various metals and how chemical processes affect part dimensioning. Works with engineering and other departments to create documentation for control plans, job travelers, inspection methods, manufacturing operations, processes and procedures for production. Capable of assessing MRB decisions and making resultant changes to production documentation. Creates, manages, maintains and updates documentation in Epicor ERP System and SEi network. Provides regular updates to Engineers and Senior Management. Performs other related duties as assigned. Provides daily engineering report. Special Assignments as requested by supervisor.
Knowledge and Abilities :
Knowledge of administrative procedures. Manages files and electronic records. Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Vault and Inventor. Able to interpret instructions both written and oral. Able to work as a team with co-workers to resolve work issues. Able to communicate effectively in English.
Education and Experience :
A Bachelor's degree in engineering or appropriate STEM discipline required or 4+ years directly applicable experience with metrology equipment.
Physical Demands :
Must be able to periodically walk and or travel to other areas of the plant, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with help, must have good eyesight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors.
Work Environment :
Within safety guidelines, there will be exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
Compensation Disclosure:
In accordance with California law, the salary range for this position reflects a good faith estimate of the base compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
