Description:
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer for a position at the Mechanical Manufacturing Center (MMC), located on the Waterton Campus in Littleton, Colorado. The MMC Manufacturing Engineering team supports a variety of production areas, including additive manufacturing, traditional machining, mechanism assembly, composite fabrication, and structural assembly. The chosen candidate would join our collaborative team and support one or multiple of these areas.
Scope of responsibilities will include:
Providing shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process for a specific program or production area. Accomplish results by utilizing multi-functional team, including Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, MRP/Parts Production Control, and Planning/Scheduling to meet program needs Providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome. Creating procedures and operations for the fabrication and/or rework of hardware. Translate engineering drawings and parts lists into easy-to-follow work instructions for the production floor. Writing production planning, inspecting and assessing defective hardware, and optimizing production flow to meet program deliverables. Interfacing with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements to gain efficiencies and represent manufacturing in peer reviews of engineering drawings to enhance the design for manufacturability. Contact with immediate supervisor or lead, project leaders, and other personnel in the section or group.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience/combined education. This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen. Experience writing procedures, work instructions, technical writing or similar with technical publications. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, schematics, and specifications. Works well with multi-discipline teams, self-motivated problem solver, and strong communication skills. Previous hands-on manufacturing experience, or manufacturing/design engineering experience (i.e. working with CNC lathes/mills, fabrication of composite parts, assembly work, etc.).
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of root cause and corrective action investigative, lean manufacturing, and process improvement methods. Experience with CNC programming and machining. Understanding and application of fundamental GD&T principals. Knowledge of composite materials and composite fabrication/machining/bonding fundamentals. Experience working in a high rate manufacturing/production facility. Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent processes (Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Q-Notes, FOE/FOD, etc.). Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent tools (ERP/SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc.).

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $67,000 - $117,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
