Job Description

Job Posting Title Mechatronics Intern Job Description Summary Responsible for supporting plant controls and automation teams in developing, maintaining, and improving automated manufacturing systems. This role provides hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control systems, and industrial automation technologies used in a production environment. The intern will work closely with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment, optimize processes, and assist with automation projects that drive efficiency, quality, and productivity. Assist in the development, programming, and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, servo, motion control, and robotic systems. Work alongside the Controls Engineering team to support and improve plant automation systems. Monitor automation equipment performance and address issues impacting production operations. Perform root cause analysis on equipment and process-related problems and assist in corrective actions. Support the development and execution of solutions for emerging automation challenges Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency. Participate in testing, commissioning, and validation activities for automation projects. Document automation system updates, troubleshooting activities, and project improvements. Required Skills and Education Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Computer Engineering, with an anticipated graduation date of 2028. Knowledge of industrial automation platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent systems. Ability to work with industrial robotic systems, including Fanuc, ABB, Universal Robots, KUKA, or similar platforms. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
