Job Description

Quality Engineer Position Summary Alpha Metalcraft Group (AMG) is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support our Bethel, CT manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for driving quality initiatives, supporting production and customer requirements, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and customer quality standards within a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, experience in manufacturing quality systems, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and customers to improve product quality and operational performance. Essential Responsibilities Support and maintain compliance with AS9100 quality management systems and customer-specific requirements Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA) for internal and external quality issues Review and analyze nonconformance trends and implement corrective actions to improve quality performance Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives Support customer audits, internal audits, and regulatory compliance activities Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP documentation, and inspection planning as required Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for compliance Participate in MRB activities and disposition recommendations Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection documentation Support calibration, inspection methods, and quality data collection/reporting Monitor KPIs and quality metrics to identify opportunities for improvement Drive a proactive quality culture throughout the manufacturing operation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems required Experience with root cause analysis methodologies and corrective action systems Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T Experience supporting audits, customer quality requirements, and compliance initiatives Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred Preferred Experience Aerospace, metal forming, stamping, or precision manufacturing experience Internal Auditor certification experience Familiarity with ITAR-regulated environments Experience working directly with customers on quality-related issues Why Work at AMG At Alpha Metalcraft Group, you'll join a growing advanced manufacturing platform supporting aerospace, defense, medical device, and commercial customers with critical applications.
