Hiring for an Aerospace Manufacturing Process Engineer in Manchester, CT Job Description This role involves planning and designing manufacturing processes across the plant to maximize efficiency. You will define the method, sequence, and tooling approach for new and existing aerospace parts and assemblies. Collaborate with the shop floor to execute, troubleshoot, and improve processes. Create operation sheets and work instructions, drive tooling and fixture concepts, and support rework and repair instructions for nonconforming parts. Responsibilities Own projects for new and existing aerospace parts and assemblies. Determine manufacturing methods and process sequencing to meet specifications and business objectives. Build models and create operation sheets and work instructions using SolidWorks or equivalent software. Initiate tooling and fixture concepts and gather feedback from machinists and leadership. Troubleshoot production issues and implement method and tooling improvements. Write rework and repair methods for project timelines and support planning and execution. Participate in customer and supplier discussions when required. Support cost estimating as needed. Essential Skills Experience in manufacturing engineering and aerospace manufacturing process engineering. Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation for both military and commercial specifications. Knowledge of manufacturing methods, routings, and process sequencing. Solid modeling and documentation skills, particularly with SolidWorks or equivalent. Ability to create work instructions, operation sheets, and travelers. Experience in tooling and fixture concepting with hands-on feedback from the shop floor. Proven ability in shop-floor troubleshooting and process improvement. Skill in writing rework and repair methods for nonconformances. Strong cross-functional communication skills with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers. Project management skills, with a preference for experience with MS Project. Additional Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated process changes that reduced scrap, rework, cycle time, or bottlenecks. Experience in shop-floor troubleshooting with ownership of the fix. Implemented tooling and fixture changes that improved consistency or ergonomics. Stability in recent tenure patterns is valued. Work Environment This position is on-site and first-shift, involving a mix of office work and significant shop-floor time. The work environment is a fast-paced manufacturing setting with tight priorities and frequent cross-functional coordination. Comfort working directly with production teams, tooling, and quality is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Manchester, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $78000.00 - $97500.00/yr.
